Page 11-12: What Happens If I Sin? Can I Ever Lose My Salvation?

Hi everyone!  This week we finish up Lesson 1.  We'll do the last two sections of Lesson 1 on pages 11-12, "What Happens if I Sin?" and "Can I Ever Lose My Salvation?"  I pray we are all getting the key doctrine, Assurance of Salvation, rooted in our minds and hearts.  This is a key doctrinal truth to build upon as we continue with the study.  God bless you in your studies and your testimony!  Love, Brad

These are the passages that struck me: John 6:39 ==Jesus said he would not lose even one person whom the Father had given him. Thus anyone who makes a sincere commitment to believe in Jesus Christ as SAvior is secure in God's promise of eternal life. Christ will not let his people be overcome by Satan and lose their salvation. How overwhelming is this security!! Confirmed by Romans 8:38-39 'For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us form the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.' And yet we sin--we can be haughty, arrogant, selfish and I don't think we even understand how controling we are--NOT giving it all to Christ who is in control and knows best!!! But Hebrews 12:6says '...the Lord disciplines those he loves, and he punishes everyone he accepts as a son.' This is the same "tough love" that every loving parent should use to discipline their children. God is the expert. We humans just try to do our best praying all the time for God's guidance and help.

Was I tough enough? We all have our opinion but God will let me know!!
